Miss Mary Ann's 2nd and 3rd
grade class
dissecting owl pellets at the Santa Ana Zoo!
What is an owl pellet, you ask?
It's probably not what you think!
An owl pellet is made up of
the indigestible parts (fur, bones, teeth &
feathers) of animals that owls eat. The undigested
parts are compressed into a pellet that is regurgitated
by the owl. In other words, the owl vomits it
up. Fun, huh?
